Prologue A girl walked down the street. It was a dusty, dirt, ordinary road and the girl was quite ordinary herself. Thus begins the tale of a group of teenagers who will do anything to avenge the ones they care so much about. The prologue really is necessary to the story, so don't skip over it.

One. Smoke. Something doesn't feel right. It seems to me that all important events, things that will shape who we are for the rest of our lives, begin as ordinary suppositions on ordinary days. There is little or no pre-warning to any real tragedy, how can someone be expected to react when their life is suddenly torn from them?

Two. Save Their Lives. They had lost everything they ever held dear, save their lives. The future looks even more grim as Gab wanders through town searching for survivors. The question needs to be asked- Do they really want to be saved?

Three. Memories and Love. The teens are left alone to contemplate about what is real in life, what will last forever. "Memories, for one." Janie told him, rolling over onto her back again, "And the other, love." She finished.

Four. Promises. After a rude awakening the inevitable happens and the small group leaves their town but not without one last forlorn look at the remains of what they had always considered to be home. The departure leaves one thought in the heads of the teens, 'One day I'll return. I've promised it.'

Five. Pasts. As the six teens continue their trek we gain some insight into Gab's mysterious past. "You know..." Eve said. Gab gave her his best 'empy stare.' Eve sighed, "How long have you been..."

Six. They don't exist. Still following the road, the teens come upon trouble they never could have predicted. Dylan laughed too, "Yeah right. Monsters. Maybe it was a killer dog?"

Seven. Fish. Gab rolled his eyes before skewering a fish. Taya wrinkled her nose as the water around it turned slightly red. "You’re not actually eat that, are you?" She asked.

Eight. Long is the Road. "Isn’t it a little early to be getting depressed?" Zac asked, pushing himself into something of a sitting position. He winced a little at the movement.
